FISHING REPORT – MARCH 2016
The cool west wind was hauling yesterday night… and this morning is calm and gentle. I don’t know how long I stayed sitting by the Limay reflecting on the many years we’ve been fishing this river. Until this thought struck my mind.
Two seasons ago we thought we knew the river pretty well, we had scouted it and we had fished it.
But there is an absolutely distinct difference between living permanently by the river, which means being on the river all the time every day all season, and just coming for 2 or 3 days, 2 or 3 times each month, like in the past. Now our perspective is fundamentally different, not to even mention the amount of precious knowledge we keep gaining day after day. From fly-patterns we had never tried…
And this is an ongoing process that does not stop. It continues to evolve day after day as our relationship with this special river becomes more intimate. It’s like we never cease to learn!
Now the breeze is blowing at my back and I can see fish noses coming up by the far bank. I can feel today is going to be another glorious day on the mighty Limay.
